Notice where I’m standing in order to actually get a view of cross traffic.  In this case, if I were in a vehicle, I would have to put the nose of my car into traffic in order to properly see.  Pedestrians and bicyclists, without a hood-length to contend with, have it better - but remain more vulnerable when staging themselves to view cross traffic.  On Alberta St, Portland.
